Trine Alumni
Scholarship funds are critical in a student's decision, or ability, to attend Trine. In the 2021-2022 school year alone, the university awarded more than $41 million in institutional aid. All of our scholarship funds depend on the philanthropic power of you! Learn more about our three scholarships opportunities below. As a non-profit, higher education institution, our students rely on donor support to reach financial aid goals that allow them to attend Trine University. The gift amount for an annual scholarship is $1,500. As the contributor, you can choose the school that the scholarship will support and the recipient will write to the sponsoring family and offer a brief written report on their academic achievements.
The fund was established by the generosity of donors of Trine University to offer assistance to students from families who require help from sources other than the Federal/state and institutional need-based programs. Support of this fund is $500 for each scholarship. The Books and Beyond Scholarship helps students each day with their need for class books, at-home computers, travel expenses home, and other unanticipated expenses.
Endowment funds support the overall mission of the university, and the interest made on those funds are issued out to deserving students as scholarships. Any person, whether an individual, corporation, trust, estate or organization can make additional gifts to the university for inclusion in the fund. Once the scholarship is fully endowed at $30,000, it will be issued annually to one or more deserving students with preferences established by the initiating donor.
Trine's main scholarship fundraising event is the Trine University Scholarship Gala, held annually in the month of February. The Gala has raised more than $6 million for student scholarships through its history. And, although the pandemic prevented an in-person event in 2021 and 2022, generous donors contributed more than $1.4 million to the Trine University 2022 Gala Fund, established in the absence of the in-person event. We continue to be amazed and thankful for the generousity of our community, our alumni, our friends and all of those who are dedicated to providing a quality education to deserving students.
